Second Birthday Gardening Party

I took full advantage of the fact that Eleanor’s birthday falls right at the start of spring and decided on a gardening party for her second birthday. A gardening theme gave me the opportunity to use some of my favorite things (think florals and pink), and provided for a fun activity for the littles!

The Decorations

When it came time to shop for party decor, my first stop was my own house! I was able to use so many spring decor items I already had, like moss bunnies, my favorite cabbage-wear, and an outdoor trellis I adorned with faux flowers. The pink and green floral birthday banner from Etsy was the perfect finishing touch for our little pink and green gardening soirée.

The Table

It was so much setting up the kid’s table with the cutest kids chiavari chairs that I dressed up with mini floral wreaths. I draped the table with vintage fabric and topped it with disposable dessert plates, sweet paper teacups, and vintage scalloped napkins.

The Activities

Our KidKraft outdoor table was the perfect place for all the messy fun. For the gardening, I bought plain terracotta pots for our little guests to paint and then plant with a flower of their choice. Although the paint markers were a total game changer, I laid out a few kids aprons just in case. A little bit of potting soil, the cutest kids gardening gloves, and pretty plants completed the gardening station.
