A New England Inspired Labor Day Table

Even though I’m far from the east coast here in Texas, I couldn’t resist setting a New England-style table after stumbling upon the most charming vintage lobster plates. They immediately transported me to summers by the shore – clam bakes, lobster rolls, and all things red and white.

To let the plates shine, I paired them with a fabulous blue tablecloth by Mason Venu, cheerful Zafferano party tumblers, and rattan placemats by Artifacts Trading Company. The mix of textures and colors feels casual but still pulled together, just right for a Labor Day gathering or any summertime meal with friends.

Of course, no table is complete without cordless lamps. I’ve been loving these bamboo cordless lamps from Amazon – they add a soft glow and tie right in with my favorite bamboo flatware set. For the florals, I used rattan drinking glasses. Although they’re sold out, I found a similar pair on sale (plus an extra 20% off)! To finish off, I layered in red gingham ruffled napkins (similar) for the perfect coastal pop.

You don’t need to live by the ocean to bring a little coastal charm to your table. This New England-inspired spread feels just as fresh and festive here in Texas and I love that a simple table can transport you somewhere else entirely. So whether you’re celebrating Labor Day, summer weekends, or just want to pretend you’re on the coast for a night, consider this your sign to bring a little lobster-and-gingham magic to your table.
